The chapel, built in the 18th century, is a typical small rural chapel. In its interior exists a wooden retable and in the churchyard there are the graves of Francisco da Silva Cabrita, friar of the Order of Avis and of Francisco Correia d' Ataíde Cabrita, who  –  in 1833 - participated in the fight against the guerrilla of “Remexido” (a rebel, who ruined the town and executed a great number of its inhabitants).  Illustrating miracles, it contains a lot of "votive offerings” from the fishermen.
